*Call To Worship (Together in Unison)
We thank you, Father, that this is not only a new day, but also a special day of worship and rest, a day set aside by your commandment many hundreds of years ago when your people were wandering in the dessert. And we thank you for the new meaning given to this day by the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead. So we now observe it not only as a day of rest and worship, but also as a day of celebration of new life.

You May Be Seated
Prayer of Confession: (Together in unison)
We come today as wounded seeking healing, we come as sinners seeking pardon, we come as wanderers seeking direction we come as weaklings seeking strength, we come as children seeking love, we come as the disheartened seeking encouragement.
A time of silent individual confessional prayer
Words of Assurance
There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
Psalm 118:14-29
UM Hymnal #839
14 The LORD is my strength and my power;
the Lord has become my salvation.
15 There are joyous songs of victory
in the tents of the righteous:
“The right hand of the LORD does valiantly;
16 the right hand of the LORD is exalted;
the right hand of the LORD does valiantly!”
17 I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of the LORD.
18 The LORD has chastened me sorely,
but has not given me over to death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the LORD.
20 This is the gate of the LORD;
the righteous shall enter through it.
21 I thank you that you have answered me
and have become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
23 This is the Lord’s doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save us, we beseech you, O LORD!
O LORD, we beseech you, give us success!
26 Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD.
We bless you from the house of the LORD.
27 The LORD is God,
who has given us light.
Lead the festal procession with branches,
up to the horns of the altar!
28 You are my God, and I will give thanks to you;
you are my God, I will extol you.
29 O give thanks to the LORD, who is good,
for God’s steadfast love endures forever!

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And Forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And Lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
And the glory forever. Amen.
*Hymn of Preparation
Hymn #308 “Thine Be The Glory”
Verse 1
Thine be the glory
Risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory
Thou o’er death hast won
Angels in bright raiment
Rolled the stone away
Kept the folded grave clothes
Where Thy body lay
Chorus
Thine be the glory
Risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory
Thou o’er death hast won
Verse 2
Lo Jesus meets us
Risen from the tomb
Lovingly He greets us
Scatters fear and gloom
Let the church with gladness
Hymns of triumph sing
For her Lord now liveth
Death hath lost its sting
Chorus
Thine be the glory
Risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory
Thou o’er death hast won
Verse 3
No more we doubt Thee
Glorious Prince of life
Life is naught without Thee
Aid us in our strife
Make us more than conquerors
Through Thy deathless love
Lead us in Thy triumph
To Thy home above
Chorus
Thine be the glory
Risen conquering Son
Endless is the victory
Thou o’er death hast won

*Message Text
Mark 16:1-6
1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him.
2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb.
3 And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” 4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large.
5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.
6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.
